IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world's leading hotel groups, will launch its premium collection brand, voco Hotels in Southeast Asia and Korea with the opening of its first hotel, voco Orchard Singapore on 1 January 2022.

Launched in 2018, voco Hotels combines the reassurance of a big brand with the informality and charm of an individual hotel. The name voco means 'to invite' and 'call together' originating from Latin, representing the brand's thoughtful, unstuffy and charming nature.

The 423-room voco Orchard Singapore will embody the unique characteristics of the brand with exclusive features and distinctive hallmarks setting it apart for a memorable stay. Located at the start of Singapore's world-famous Orchard Road, the iconic hotel is just a 10-minute walk away from the idyllic Botanic Gardens, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015, and an array of dining, shopping and entertainment options.

In line with celebrating the individual spirit and character of each voco hotel, voco Orchard Singapore will create localised guest experiences inspired by the hotel's heritage and paying homage to the history of the area; a far cry from the bustling shopping district of today, Orchard Road was previously home to pepper farms, nutmeg plantations, and the namesake fruit orchards.

Every guest will experience the voco Hotels' signature 'come on in' warm welcome, promising a swift and simple check in, a locally inspired welcome treat and dedicated voco hosts available as resident experts. The hotel's four restaurants and bars - Opus Bar & Grill, il Cielo, D9 Cakery and Iggy's, and more than 1,850sqm of flexible meeting and event spaces, will continue to entice guests to enjoy the voco life.

The brand is designed with sustainability at its core and at voco Orchard Singapore, guests can sleep easy knowing that rooms include signature voco touches, such as high-quality bedding made from 100% recycled materials, and eco-friendly large size bathroom amenities from Apotheke, a plant-based organic skincare company from New York.

voco Hotels also continues to evolve as part of its global ambition to welcome guests at 200 voco hotels in leading urban and leisure locations within 10 years. Testament to the rising global prominence of the brand, South East Asia and Korea will see another four hotel openings in Korea, Vietnam and Thailand within the next two years.

Scheduled to open in April 2022, the 151-room voco Gangnam is perfectly located at the heart of Seoul's energetic Gangnam district - one of its main tourist areas and economic hubs, renowned for its trendy restaurants, upscale and designer-brand shopping malls and vibrant nightlife. Facilities at the hotel include an 85-seat café & bar, three meeting rooms totalling 600 square metres, and a fitness centre. Guests can look forward to a stay brightened by a bold, contemporary and inviting design that uniquely showcases a reinterpretation of traditional Korean styles.

voco Orchard Singapore will be IHG's 13th hotel in Singapore when it opens in 2022 and its seventh brand in the country where it joins Regent, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. The hotel is also the latest addition to one of the world's largest hotel loyalty programme, IHG Rewards, where guests can earn and redeem points at nearly 6,000 hotels and major airlines globally.
