Hilton Garden Inn Hits the Road with the Evolution Solution Express Showcasing Cutting-Edge Room Amenities
Hilton Focused Service Brand Conference | 72-Foot Mobile Marketing Tour Begins Cross-Country Adventure To Provide Travelers With HGI Experience
Hilton Garden Inn(R) is transforming the hotel experience yet again with the Evolution Solution Express(TM) (ESE), a 72-foot, 67,000 pound mobile marketing truck that features a full scale model guestroom offering the latest in guest comfort and sleep, ergonomic and entertainment technology. The ESE will trek across the U.S and Canada, and visit popular tourist events and destinations to provide travelers with a virtual hotel experience while giving a sneak peek at what guests will soon find at Hilton Garden Inn hotels.
"The Hilton Garden Inn brand continually strives to stay ahead of our competitors and offer guests everything they need, before they know they need it. This has become our obsession and passion," said Adrian Kurre, senior vice president, brand management for Hilton Garden Inn. "The ESE is the ideal way for us to share this obsession with both our current and future guests – by taking the evolution of the Hilton Garden Inn guestroom right to where our travelers live, shop, work and play."
New guestroom amenities being showcased in the ESE tour include the:
- Garden Sleep System by VSS Sleep Systems
- modified Mirra chair by Herman Miller
- 26" Philips flat panel, high-definition television
- innovative Hilton Garden Inn clock allowing travelers to play their MP3 player or portable CD player
Guestroom Evolution
The Garden Sleep System was designed by VSS Sleep Systems and is made using a system of air cells and slatted suspension, and adjusts to the contours of the guest's body, displacing a person's unique weight and shape, thereby eliminating the tossing and turning often associated with a poor night's sleep.
The Garden Sleep System is constructed using V3 technology:
- V1 – 100% New Zealand virgin wool – which helps maintain the proper temperature to adjust to an individual's body temperature while allowing the material to breathe and wick away moisture
- V2 – The Self Contouring Technology (S.C.T.) that does not utilize a pump or motor but an air system that automatically adjusts to a person's weight, no matter the size or shape, and displaces body weight to offer a more restful sleep
- V3 – The Patented Slat Foundation (P.S.F.) that consists of a number of individual hardwood slats mounted on a unique suspension system that allows the mattress to flex and shift according to a person's weight, to provide the perfect balance between comfort and support
The modified Mirra chair by Herman Miller offers guests an ergonomic chair that automatically shapes itself to each user, while a few simple adjustments fine-tune the fit and feel. Next generation innovations of the modified Mirra chair include:
- back height that is taller than standard work chairs, to support the thorax
- upper zone flexibility and a back that rolls with the user as he/she reaches side to side
- geometric flex zones specially tuned inward to support the lumbar region
- standard back offering a degree of sacral support naturally integrated into the design to support the lower back
- air-weave seat made of breathable microdenier polyester and elaster construction – allowing stretches in all directions to flex with a guest's movement
- suspension to evenly distribute sitter's weight offering minimal pressure points and greater comfort
- harmonic tilt, tension knob and adjustable seat height ranging from 16" to 20 1/2"
- adjustable arm height and width that pivots 11 degrees inward and 11 degrees outward to support typing on the keyboard or moving the mouse pad
Looking ahead to offer the newest trend in entertainment viewing, Hilton Garden Inn hotel guestrooms will feature the Philips hi-definition television that displays pictures in a panoramic 16:9 horizontal-to-vertical aspect ratio to be more like movies while adding a realistic feel to TV and movie-viewing. The 26" Philips hi-definition television will offer guests:
- Commercial hotel TV compatible with all video-on-demand providers
- Razor-sharp images so guests miss nothing from their movies
- Images that are continually optimized for real life pictures
- Dolby(R) Virtual Surround with 20 Watts audio power to offer guest true theater surround sound
The innovative Hilton Garden Inn clock that will soon make its way to guestrooms around North America will have the ability to play a guest's MP3 player or portable CD player. In addition, the clock will feature easy-to-follow instructions for setting the alarm and offer pre-set radio station buttons with themed images that take guests directly to local city stations like "Rock," "Classical," "Oldies," "Country," "Jazz" or "News Talk" – helping travelers to navigate the airwaves in search of their favorite tunes.
"Hilton Garden Inn is committed to giving guests the latest in technology and comfort to make business or leisure travel on the road more productive and less stressful," said Mark Nogal, vice president of marketing for Hilton Garden Inn. "With the ESE mobile tour, we look forward to sharing the evolution of the Hilton Garden Inn guestroom with travelers across the U.S."
In addition to these new items, Hilton Garden Inn guests will still be able to enjoy the chain's standard amenities that make the brand so inviting for business and leisure travelers, including complimentary high-speed Internet access in every room and secure remote printing; an in-room mini-fridge and microwave, a 24-hour business center; a workout facility, swimming pool and whirlpool; the Pavilion Pantry(R) convenience market that offers 24-hour snacks, and the Great American Grill(R) restaurant offering freshly prepared breakfast (including the signature Hilton Garden Inn waffle), lunch* and dinner.*
The ESE was launched to Hilton Garden Inn owners and general managers during the Hilton Focused Service Brand conference in Las Vegas on February 14, 2005. The ESE mobile tour will travel for approximately six months, from February through July, 2005, covering nearly 26,000 miles. It will stop at new Hilton Garden Inn hotels throughout the U.S., properties under construction, business parks, as well as local events and attractions. Additionally, the ESE will make an appearance at WIRED Magazine's NextFest, a three-day technology festival expected to attract thousands of visitors from around the country. NextFest will take place in Chicago on June 24-26, 2005, at Chicago's Navy Pier. Hilton Garden Inn is the official hospitality sponsor of the event.
