DALLAS, June 13 - Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) today announced that Francis Brennan, owner of Ireland's Park Hotel Kenmare, will serve as Chairman of the International Board of Small Luxury Hotels of the World 2001- 2003. Brennan succeeds John Cope, the President and Managing Director of The Huntington Hotel in San Francisco, who completed his two-year term.

The 284-member luxury hotel consortium also elected two new board members. Julia Schroeder, hotel manager of the Bellevue Club Hotel in Seattle, WA, and Friedrich Gross, owner of the Chateau Grand Barrail in St. Emilion, France, will join the eight other members representing particular regions around the world (Europe/Africa, The Americas and Asia Pacific).

The chairman and the board members are responsible for the management and development of SLH. The board guides the organization towards providing increasingly high standards while making its portfolio ever more accessible to customers throughout the world. The eleven-member team must also ensure that the interests of all member hoteliers are represented and that a high degree of continuity is maintained.

"The leadership of our new chairman and the experience of our two newest board members are perfect complements to an already outstanding team," stated Brian Mills, Managing Director of SLH. "The consortium is well-positioned for continued growth as we embark on our second decade of providing the most exceptional service and detail to our guests throughout the world."
