Novotel Citygate Hong Kong Opens, Bringing A Stylish New Addition To Tung Chung
Hotel also becomes on site hotel partner of newly-opened AsiaWorld-Expo
BANGKOK | The newly opened Novotel Citygate Hong Kong, adjacent to Citygate shopping complex, brings a stylish addition to Tung Chung, putting the booming business and residential hub firmly on the international map.
The contemporary 440-room hotel, located just 5 minutes’ drive from Hong Kong International Airport, sets new standards for four-star hotels in the city and will make a significant contribution to Hong Kong’s tourism industry which is enjoying unprecedented growth.
Strategically placed to capture business not only from the Airport but also from nearby tourist attractions such as Hong Kong Disneyland and Ngong Ping 360 Skyrail (opening in June 2006), Novotel Citygate is in close proximity to AsiaWorld-Expo, which has named Novotel Citygate as an ‘on site hotel partner’.
According to the hotel’s General Manager, Mr. Scott Davies: “Novotel Citygate will be a stylish addition to Tung Chung and surrounding area. Its opening reflects the growing importance of this location in Hong Kong and the hotel provides an ideal base for visiting business or leisure travellers, as well as delegates visiting AsiaWorld-Expo.”
Mr. Allen Ha, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited said: "We very much welcome on board Novotel Citygate Hong Kong to join us as a key on-site hotel partner.”
“Situated just 5 minutes from AsiaWorld-Expo, we are sure Novotel Citygate Hong Kong will offer a great experience for our business visitors for their stay in Hong Kong”.
A free shuttle service is available to and from the Airport and AsiaWorld-Expo.
As well as its many innovative and striking features, including exclusively commissioned sculptures, the hotel has a spectacular revolving door, which at a total height of 4.8 metres, makes it the tallest hotel revolving door in the world.
An exciting line up of four restaurants and bar will become venues of choice in Tung Chung, with the innovative look of Essence and Andante being the vision of world renowned Interior Designer, Morita.
All day dining outlet, Essence, serves Asian fusion buffet in an open show kitchen and a la carte, blending all Asian and Western favourites. Casual Mediterranean dining is offered at Olea, while guests can enjoy Arabica coffee and oven-baked pastry at Moccato, and the lobby lounge, Andante is a perfect venue to unwind and relax.
Making the maximum use of space is central to the interior design philosophy of the guestrooms by Steve Leung Designers Ltd, each of which has 32-inch wall-mounted LCD television screens, modern open plan bathrooms and generous workspace. Room sizes range from 26 - 87 sqm.
Corporate guests are well served with a fully-equipped ‘Biz Center’ and wireless Internet throughout the hotel. The four ‘Biz Executive Floors,’ will cater to an expected strong demand from corporate clients and conference delegates who also receive complimentary breakfast and evening cocktails in the ‘Biz Lounge’. The hotel’s hi-tech multi purpose meeting space, the Lantau Room can be configured to accommodate groups from 12 to 400 guests.
Further highlights include a gymnasium, a 20-metre outdoor pool complete with its own garden and sun terrace, and a spa (opening in June), providing a haven for guests seeking relaxing time out.
