San Jose, Calif. – This month at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Confrence (HITEC) in Baltimore, hoteliers will be introduced to two exciting tools from Bittel Americas that provides guests with conveniences like never before. Because more consumers are traveling with portable devices, Bittel Americas is introducing its next generation multimedia connectivity panel, MediaFi2, enabling guests to enjoy media carried on their personal devices via the in-room television or entertainment system. In addition, the latest telephone in the UNO Media series, UNO Media 3, which combines a full featured guestroom phone, alarm clock/radio, and integrated audio player, will be on display.

"Today hoteliers need to provide a variety of connectivity options to their guests in order to maintain loyalty and customer satisfaction," said Mitch Heinlein, Bittel VP of Sales and Marketing. "Our MediaFi connectivity panel series – which includes a desktop multi-media charging and control center with connections such as HDMI, USB, RCA and VGA, and power outlets, iPhone/iPod Dock, Clock, Stereo Speakers and embedded iDevice cables – is in high demand. By customer request, our new version, MediaFi2, has been designed with the cordless phone removed, offers optional Bluetooth connectivity, and features 1080P digital output for high definition video compatablity."

MediaFi2 converges a multimedia panel, high-fidelity speakers, clock and universal power sockets, plus it supports iPod/iPhone, iPad and other smart phones; plays and charges Apple devices; features single HDMI connection to HDTV; offers a composite AV, VGA, HDMI, USB port and iPhone dock; displays time on a big LCD screen; and features automatic radio channel search.

Both MediaFi and MediaFi2 offer ample space for hotel branding and messaging, along with important guest service information. Likewise, both units are designed to blend with Bittel's UNO Media Series of guestroom phones.

Like its connectivity panels, Bittel's UNO Media phones also are designed with convenience in mind, enabling guests to enjoy their music on the road by plugging into the phone for a high-end audio experience. Making its debut at HITEC, the new UNO Media 3 unit serves as a guestroom phone with an audio player with embedded iPhone/iPod dock (plus integrated cables for iPads and other MP3 players), and an alarm clock radio all in one.

"Bittel remains focused on developing solutions that are functional and fun for guests to use while helping hotels protect their assets and improve on their bottom lines," Heinlein said. "UNO Media 3 is sleek, stylish and wired for sound, and MediaFi2 is streamlined to offer just the connectivity options that today's tech-savvy travelers demand. Although we are continually enhancing our product line, hotels are still drawn to existing solutions, proving that there is a product just right for every hotel at Bittel. The LaQuinta Inn San Jose Airport is a perfect example."

LaQuinta is Loving MediaFi and UNO Voice

The La Quinta Inn San Jose Airport, owned and operated by ZENique Hotels, recently completed a significant technology upgrade to the property. In addition to purchasing all new televisions for guestrooms, owner Rupesh Patel installed Bittel's original MediaFi connectivity panels and its UNO Voice telephones.

"As an owner and operator of several award-winning hotels in the Bay Area, we understand the importance that technology plays in guest satisfaction, loyalty and maintaining market share," Patel said. "We purchased the LaQuinta Inn San Jose Airport a year ago with the goal of taking a technology-advanced approach to guest service. MediaFi immediately caught my eye. I recognized the convenience that it would provide to tech-savvy travelers who are completely mobile device dependent today. With MediaFi, our guests can charge all their devices while using the TV as a monitor if desired when working on their iPads or laptops. The unit's auto-sensing technology immediately recognizes the type of device being plugged in, removing any guess-work for guests. MediaFi was so affordable, that we were also able to add Bittel's UNO Voice phones.

"This is our first experience with Bittel Americas, and we are very pleased," he said. "Their service is spectacular, and our guests really like the equipment. The UNO Voice phones we installed are raised, making it convenient for guests to see the branding and direct-dial instructions. The convenience and quality of both the MediaFi units and UNO Voice phones will keep us Bittel customers for a long time to come."

Bittel phones are available in single or two line, corded or DECT cordless, and work in both analog or SIP technology environments. Standard features include: Up to 10 programmable guest service keys, Large faceplate area for branding and dialing or operating instructions, and Message waiting indicator compatible with all major hospitality PBXs.

Alarm clock and audio features include: Easy-to-use alarm clock/radio with snooze, FM tuner, Audio inputs for portable music player, High fidelity speakers and audio, Large dimmable multi-function display, Two powered USB ports, Optional Time-Set Remote Control and Auto Daylight Savings Time adjust.

Media Fi, MediaFi2 and UNO Media 3 will be on display at HITEC, June 25 to 28, at the Baltimore Convention Center in Booth #2056. To preschedule an appointment, email Mitch Heinlein at [email protected].
