JOHOR BAHRU, Malaysia and MCLEAN, Va. -- Hilton Worldwide today announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru, the second DoubleTree by Hilton branded hotel in Malaysia. Conveniently located in the heart of the up-and-coming Iskandar Region, within Johor Bahru’s Central Business District, the hotel offers ample options for business and leisure guests seeking an upscale, full-service hotel offering and the award-winning service experience for which the DoubleTree by Hilton brand is known.

DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru is located less than five kilometers’ (3.1 miles) drive from the Johor-Singapore Immigration Checkpoint and 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) from the Senai International Airport. Its accessibility to Singapore and Changi International Airport allows international travelers to travel around regionally with ease. The hotel is also convenient to major shopping outlets, cultural and historical sites, as well as Asia’s first LEGOLAND theme park and other leisure establishments.

DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru offers 335 guest rooms, including 52 suites. Each room and suite comes equipped with wireless internet access, the signature Sweet Dreams™ by DoubleTree bedding, in-room work space, 40’ LCD TV, and a walk-in rain shower. Executive rooms and suites offer privileged access to the Executive Lounge where complimentary breakfast, evening drinks and canapés are served. Spacious one- and two-bedroom apartment-style suites also feature a living room, a dining area, a kitchenette and laundry facilities.
The hotel offers a dedicated events and meetings floor spanning more than 2,140 square-meters and offering 10 versatile and modern function rooms that include: two divisible ballrooms, coffee break areas, spacious outdoor function areas, a business center and a wedding events consultation center. A multi-level parking garage is also available for guests’ convenience.
The hotel has four innovative dining and entertainment options: Makan Kitchen, the all-day dining restaurant featuring an eclectic mix of popular local cuisine prepared in four show kitchens; Tosca, an Italian trattoria and bar that offers stunning views of the Straits of Johor; The Food Store which offers gourmet takeout and a perfect place for casual meetings or indulgent afternoon tea; and Axis Lounge, an ideal spot to relax and unwind over a refreshing drink menu.

As part of the Hilton Worldwide portfolio, DoubleTree by Hilton offers guests the opportunity to earn and redeem points for stays through the Hilton HHonors guest loyalty program. As part of the hotel’s opening promotion, Hilton HHonors members will be rewarded with an additional 1,000 HHonors bonus points per night, up to a maximum 5,000 points per stay from July 1 to December 31, 2014.
