Cooperation with world-renowned designer Piero Lissoni
The overall design of the Shilla Stay was completed by Piero Lissoni, a world-renowned Italian architect and designer recognized for his minimalist designs. Piero Lissoni designed the hotel and its amenities to create a modern and stylish atmosphere.
He transformed the hotel into an art space by adding sensual elements around the hotel using furniture, lighting and other design elements. Further, he created a comfort-focused space layout in view of visual elements as well as consumer lifestyles.
Piero Lissoni has designed luxury hotels such as Taj Mahal Palace Suites in Mumbai, India and Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam. His other projects include Mitsui Garden Ginza in Tokyo, Japan and Studio M Hotel in Singapore.
Lissoni's design philosophy seeks to achieve a simultaneous balance between the use of space and aesthetic proportions. This is reflected in designs that are based on subtle and delicate proportions and human-scale sensibility.
The Hotel Shilla's business hotel brand "Shilla Stay" will open in an additional ten districts
With the opening of Shilla Stay Yeoksam, Shilla Stay plans to take advantage of this opportunity to make a full-scale expansion into the business hotel segment.
Shilla Stay will continue to open new properties in different locations throughout Korea until 2016. Following the successful opening of Shilla Stay Dongtan in November 2013, and the Shilla Stay Yeoksam in October, a further eight locations have been identified. Additional Shilla Stay hotels are scheduled to open in Jeju, Seodaemun, Ulsan, Mapo, Guro, Gwanghwamun, Cheonan and Seocho.
