The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) Brasil hosted its third annual GBTA Rio Energy, Resource and Marine Symposium 2015 recently at the Hotel Sofitel Copacabana Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. More than 90 business travel professionals from Brasil, the United States and Latin America participated in the successful event. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in education sessions and an expanded trade show to improve their industry knowledge and obtain ideas about corporate travel management in this important segment related to energy resources.

"This symposium, in its third year, continues to prove to be a useful education tool for buyers and suppliers alike engaged in the energy, resource and marine segment in GBTA Brasil," said Wellington Costa, GBTA's Regional Director for Brasil. "Brasil has become an excellent market for business travel professionals and this symposium gave attendees the opportunity to expand their knowledge and networks within the industry."

This year's GBTA Rio Energy, Resource and Marine Symposium featured well attended panel sessions that focused on an inside view of TMC distribution, "gamification" in a changing business travel compliance environment and developing logistics at Rio's Jobim International Airport. It also featured a presentation from Juliana Schneider, director and founder of the Schumacher School in Brasil, reflecting on sustainability and its implication on the environment and industry.
