Ramada Resort Lumut in Malaysia to open in 2018
Wyndham Hotel Group continues its expansion in South East Asia with the signing of a franchise agreement for the unique four-star Ramada Resort Lumut in Malaysia.
A forest and sea-themed resort, Ramada Resort Lumut lies next to a forest reserve with views of the Straits of Malacca. The mixed-use property will feature 170 guestrooms, 269 residential and serviced apartments, seven forest villas complete with plunge pools and a forest spa nestled under a spring pool.
A four-storey podium houses multi-functional rooms and a banquet hall catering to 350 people, all hidden behind a three-storey waterfall overlooking an infinity pool with views of the forest and the picturesque grounds. It offers an ideal setting for weddings and other special occasions.
President and Managing Director of Wyndham Hotel Group South East Asia and Pacific Rim, Barry Robinson, said Ramada Resort Lumut will cater to both business and leisure travellers looking for world-class accommodation and events facilities.
"As a company, we are committed to expanding our portfolio of offerings in destinations that people want to visit, and Malaysia is certainly a key market for us," Mr Robinson said. "Ramada Resort Lumut is a truly unique resort that I am confident will appeal to a range of guests."
The resort is located on the west coast of Malaysia between Kuala Lumpur and Penang and accessible via the international airport in Ipoh and soon to be completed West Coast Expressway. It is a short boat ride to beautiful Pangkor Island, known for its stunning beaches.
Kinta Berkat Sdn Bhd Managing Director Dato Roslan Khalid said Ramada Lumut will be uniquely poised to cater to the fast growing business market and existing MICE market.
"The upcoming developments around the area will boost tourism in this area and command a steady influx of tourists. With the support of the globally-recognised Wyndham Hotel Group, we are certain that Ramada Resort Lumut will set the benchmark for new resorts in Malaysia." Dato Roslan said.
The Ramada brand is growing in South East Asia and Pacific Rim region and has recently announced signings for two properties in Malaysia, with Ramada Meridin Johor Bahru and Ramada Encore Meridin Johor Bahru. Globally, Ramada's portfolio includes nearly 840 properties in approximately 60 countries.
