protel.I/O Enterprise Hospitality Framework set to disrupt #hoteltechnology as we know it.
After years of research, tests and analysis of masses of live on-property data, Germany's protel hotelsoftware GmbH is using this year's ITB Show in Berlin to introduce the only "enterprise" product worthy of such a name.
Dortmund, Germany – protel hotelsoftware's imminent announcement at this week's ITB Berlin is set to disrupt the market.
The complexity of hospitality IT has increased hugely over the past years; the number of systems that are being connected is constantly rising. Faster, and faster. Thanks to the dynamics of technical evolution, new ideas evolve nearly daily to provide better guest services. Big Data, micro-services, cloud computing and much more provide guests and hoteliers with an enormous potential to benefit from this. Creativity is not limited - however, it's tough to make such ideas become reality: Often the execution is too difficult, too slow and too costly due to the rigid IT environment that's actually being used in hotels.
This is where the new protel.I/O Enterprise Hospitality Framework comes in. Hoteliers and 3rd party vendors have joint access to the open API, provided by the protel.I/O EHF. This provides an as yet unknown flexibility to hoteliers and vendors: One, simple framework, overseen, developed and administered by one trusted brand.
protel now services over 14,000 hotels around the globe and is in a very strong position indeed, with thousands of integration requests from hundreds of technology suppliers.
The hotels who are signing up are both opening their doors to tomorrow's brightest innovators, and pressing more value out of their current technology set-up.
Most of these other vendors are the same #hoteltechnology brands that the hotels already trust and use, and are built on open data standards and protocols, allowing for a smoother and more rapid deployment.
“I'm thrilled to join protel. This #hoteltechnology company has the experienced technical talent, agility and tenacity to execute this phenomenally disruptive technology vision. Watch them go… protel I/O” - Pete Simpson, SVP Global Business Technology, protel
The real beauty of the new framework, however, is this: each separate product - irrespective of vendor - uses, enriches and takes insights from the same, real-time data-layer that the hotel is using.
This data encompasses complete guest-profile, spend, activity and marketing touchpoints, as well as other on-property data such as room-entry/occupancy, guest location, minibar levels or air-con use, in addition to all the usual marketing codes.
All of this data is analysed in real-time to provide up-to-the-minute insight, keeping staff aware, and able, to present incredibly personalised offers and extras that will be very hard for the guest to decline.
Furthermore, these packages can be segmented in such a way as to provide immediate traction via the hotel's own direct marketing channels - and can be adapted still further for standard deployment via GDS and OTA channels.
If you think Big Data just means pretty dashboards - well, you could be missing the point!
Last but not least: Larger hotel groups only have one partner to deal with - and this partner oversees the successful certification and integration of a myriad of other product vendors.
Anyone wishing to find out more about the protel.I/O Enterprise Hospitality Framework should be sure to visit protel at Booth 103 in Hall 8.1 at the ITB from Wednesday, 8th March.
