Denmark has known for a while that it would be home to the world's largest hotel group's new, youthful boutique brand, Moxy Hotels. The project has now broken ground in Copenhagen where the large 228-room hotel will be operated by Danish franchisee, Core Hospitality. The hotel is expected to open in March 2019.

Welcome #ATTHEMOXY

Moxy Hotels is a fun and youthful brand owned by the world's largest hotel group, Marriott International. Moxy is a millennial-focused brand, which is reflected in the combination of bold design and affordable style where communal engagement is at the center of the experience. The Moxy experience begins with a complimentary 'Got Moxy' cocktail upon arrival in the bright and buzzing lobby. The entire ground floor invites guests to relax, meet up with friends, and work in fun environments. The 228 rooms are outfitted with sound-reducing walls, 42" LCD flat screen televisions, free WiFi, USB ports, and comfortable bedding. The room design is functional, flexible and uncluttered with simple, thoughtful touches. Read more about the Moxy concept.

Danish operator in international cooperation

Moxy was established in 2014 in a cooperation among Marriott International and Vastint Hospitality, an IKEA owned property investment company. While Marriott developed the brand, Vastint purchased properties and developed building processes similar to IKEA's flatpack technology. The technology prefabricates hotel modules so that the hotel "just" has to be put together upon arrival. The process reduces both costs and waste. Now, Core Hospitality is entering this strong cooperation as the operator of the hotel in Copenhagen.

"Moxy Copenhagen is our first Moxy hotel, and it finally looks like we will be introducing the brand to the market. It is going to be a great addition to the Copenhagen hotel market with its unique and exciting concept. Moxy will be a big boost for Core Hospitality and Zleep Hotels as well. We increase our presence in the Copenhagen hotel market appropriately," says Peter Haaber, CEO at Core Hospitality and Zleep Hotels.

New operator is growing

Core Hospitality is a newly established Danish white label hotel operator as well as a sister company to Zleep Hotels, a Danish economy brand. Core Hospitality is independent of brands, thus ensuring it can operate everything from hostels to full-service hotels. As a sister company to Zleep Hotels, several synergies are created as Core Hospitality can draw on the strong, centralized organization. Core Hospitality was established in the last quarter of 2017. The company has already acquired the operations of Hotel Marina, north of Copenhagen, and has quickly established itself as a strong operator in the Nordics.
