Jumeirah Group today announces the opening of Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort, the group's first luxury "eco-conscious" Resort, nestled on the pristine shores of Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi.
The luxury beachfront Resort overlooks 400 metres of beautiful white sand on the Arabian Gulf and offers a front-row seat to breathtakingly beautiful scenery and undisturbed wildlife. Depending on the season, guests may catch a glimpse of Indo-pacific humpback and bottle nose dolphins, green or hawksbill turtles and dugongs, which live in the Saadiyat Mangroves. More inland, gazelles, socotra cormorants, grey herons and greater flamingos are known to visit.
Eco-conscious practices at the Resort go beyond preserving the island's protected sand dunes - Jumeirah has partnered with Dubai-based water treatment company Trust Your Water to reduce single-use plastics. Guests are offered locally-sourced filtered still and sparkling water in their own personal reusable bottles that can be refilled at the resort's water stations. The resort has also eliminated the use of plastic straws, favouring straws made from recycled material.
Just a 10 minute drive from Abu Dhabi city centre, guests can explore the island's 9kms of mesmerising white beach and the crystal clear waters of the Arabian Gulf which provide a feeling of relaxation and harmony. Golf aficionados can enjoy the close proximity to Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, the Arabian Gulf's first beachfront course.
Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort provides a luxurious and environmentally-sensitive holiday, perfect for honeymooners and families looking for an island escape. The beautifully designed modern, sunlit rooms overlook the Arabian Gulf and the panoramic suites offer floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies. The Resort also offers three outdoor infinity pools, a kids' pool and fitness fanatics will love the Bodyism Wellness Centre, the very first to open in the United Arab Emirates. For an even more luxurious experience, there's a choice of private 2, 3 and 4-bedroom duplex villas with private pools.
The expansive Spa means there's no limit to relaxation. The lavish 2,700 square metre haven of tranquillity and quiet sophistication features a grand Moroccan hammam, 15 treatment rooms with male and female facilities, saunas, hydrotherapy pools, steam rooms, salt rooms, experience showers and a traditional Arabic rasul room - a cleansing ritual which promises to leave spa lovers feeling relaxed with beautifully exfoliated skin. Guests staying in the Spa Villas can even enjoy pampering experiences in the privacy on their own room.
The Resort offers restaurants and lounges with a diverse, yet refined selection of dining options. Guests can try traditional Arabic flavours at Levantine-inspired TEAN, take long poolside lunches with refreshing drinks at the pool bar and dine al fresco at Mare Mare which serves the finest Italian cuisine.
White, the resort's chic all day dining restaurant offers local and international dishes alongside live cooking stations, for a remarkable dining experience. Guests looking for a more authentic experience can dine in Majlis Saadiyat which offers the warmth of Arab hospitality and a premium selection of refreshments, tea, coffee and delicious pastries.
Saadiyat Island is undergoing a remarkable transformation into a world-class leisure, culturally connected and residential destination. The Louvre Abu Dhabi, also located on the island, opened last year to international acclaim and has since received over a million visitors. It will be joined by the Zayed National Museum and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi making the island a hub for global culture, arts and entertainment. The resort is also only 10 minutes away from Yas Island, famous for hosting the annual Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Yas Mall (the second largest mall in the UAE) and world-class theme parks including Yas Waterworld, Ferrari World and the recently opened Warner Bros. World.
