Quadrum Global today announced that its South Beach asset, The Nautilus Hotel, has joined the Arlo Hotels brand portfolio and has been rebranded as "Nautilus by Arlo." This is the first Arlo property outside of New York City, and diversifies the brand's portfolio to include standard-sized hotel guestrooms in addition to the "micro" concepts observed at the two New York-based properties: Arlo SoHo and Arlo NoMad. Nautilus by Arlo is reimagining the South Beach experience, bringing Miami's global urban perspective to the beach through technology-forward services and amenities, approachable design, and imaginative local programming reflecting the spirit of the storied locale.
Designed by Morris Lapidus, the father of Miami Modern architecture, the Nautilus not only shaped the city's unique style and aesthetic, but the entire experience of South Beach. The property opened at 1825 Collins Avenue in 1951 as the largest oceanfront hotel with 300 rooms and suites. With Arlo at the helm, Nautilus is once again inspiring a sense of adventure and imagination in the city on the beach.
Nautilus is an eight-story, 250-room oceanfront property that offers a contemporary take on a mid-century modern spirit. The property will receive minor improvements following a major renovation in 2015, including a redesigned lobby and public spaces allowing for communal co-working areas and locally-inspired programming. Arlo will also incorporate a Bodega, the brand's signature 24-hour pantry serving coffee and light fare from local purveyors, plus unique products and gifts to take home as a souvenir. Arlo's New York City-based collaborators, including Priority Bicycles, Blind Barber, and Farm to People, will expand to Nautilus as well. These developments join the property's existing roster of venues and amenities, including the
1,890-square-foot heated saltwater pool and underwater sound system, Mediterranean restaurant Nautilus Cabana Club and its 2,000-square-foot outdoor dining terrace, a 24-hour fitness center, 12,000 square feet of outdoor event space and more.
