Denver-based Silverwest Hotels announced a multi-million dollar, full-scale renovation is confirmed for Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel St. Louis, located in Clayton, the city's upmarket business district. Construction will begin in October 2019 and is estimated to take between six to eight months to complete. The hotel will close during the renovation.

The project, designed by global design firm HOK, will include a revamp of all 259 guestrooms and suites, 15,000 square-feet of meeting space, and re-concepted three-meal restaurant featuring high-end, craft cocktails, upscale but approachable bar fare and a lounge-style atmosphere. Additionally, the property will cater to the needs of its business traveler base with expanded amenities including a remodeled state-of-the-art fitness center and an outdoor entertainment area featuring a large, swimming pool. The new look and feel will reflect a more sophisticated sensibility, welcoming visitors to Clayton with a higher level of service and style, reflective of the area's affluent demographic.

Silverwest  Hotels purchased the property in 2018. It is located close to St. Louis' acclaimed Forest Park and Washington University, and just 10 minutes from the city's downtown via the Metrolink. The property is managed by Dallas-based Aimbridge Hospitality.
