Briad Lodging Group, the hotel division of Livingston, N.J.-based The Briad Group, broke ground on a 125-room Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel in Edison, N.J., this week. Briad owns and will manage the Homewood Suites by Hilton Edison, slated to open in early 2021.

The hotel will feature a fitness center, an indoor saline swimming pool, an outdoor sports court and more than 1,000 square feet of meeting space. It will be less than two minutes away from the Metro Park Corporate Center, which features more than 5 million square feet of office space, and near Rutger Gardens, Roosevelt Park, Washington Rock State Park, Menlo Park Mall and a variety of shops and restaurants.

Briad Lodging Group concentrates on focused-service and extended-stay hotels, including the Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott, Springhill Suites by Marriott, TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton brands. During the past decade, it has developed, operated and managed 34 properties and built more than 3,800 rooms in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
