Adagio unveils its new location in Scotland: Adagio Glasgow Central will open on the 1st December, 2022. The contemporary building with its striking modern design inspired by Glasgow's industrial history aims to be a lively place in the city, a casual spot where Glaswegians and guests alike can meet in a relaxed atmosphere, all with Adagio's high-quality furnishings and top standard of service.

Located in the heart of Scotland's style and cultural capital, close to the business centre and on the banks of the River Clyde, Adagio Glasgow Central will channel the thriving arts scene of the city. The aparthotel will collaborate with final year students from the prestigious BA (Hons) Textile Design course at The Glasgow School of Art, challenging students to create their own version of the pioneering Glaswegian designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh's iconic rose, adopted by the city. Three winning designs will be selected and displayed within the aparthotel for guests to enjoy and to be immersed in the local culture.

The design of Adagio Glasgow Central will reference the industrial might of the Glasgow shipbuilders, whilst paying tribute to the playful tourism trade. Inspired by the statement colours of signal flags, pops of bright shades will feature throughout creating an inviting and friendly environment. The rugged forms of the ship cranes which sat on the Clyde's banks in the 20th Century will be referenced through the fitted furniture which will feature slanted panels. The use of wave patterns and rope will also nod to the nautical history of the location. Most of the furniture and finishes used will be British made, including expertly crafted fabrics from the Isle of Bute in Scotland.

Adagio Glasgow Central will be ideally located with both Glasgow Central station and St Enoch's underground station within five minutes walk. The aparthotel will also be within walking distance of Argyle Street and St Enoch's shopping centre, as well as the international business district. With 162 rooms, the property will be pet-friendly offering a gym, laundry room and Adagio's renowned guest library - perfect for couples, families and business travellers.

In alignment with the ambitious international development plans for the French brand, present now in 14 different countries, the opening of Glasgow Central will be Adagio's 8th property in the UK, and its second venture in Scotland, following the popular Adagio Royal Mile in Edinburgh.
