NOMAD Hotels Group, the first Peruvian "home-boutique" hotel network, announced the opening of its first hotel in Arequipa under the name of NOMAD Urban AQP. Located in the heart of the "White City", it plans to become a "Social Hub" for digital nomads, whether they are millennials or executive Zetas. In the hotel, you will find work spaces such as the qASA Care coworking, spaces for events and other leisure spaces such as the "Music Corner", the INDIGO restaurant which offers an exclusive gastronomic approach and its AMBAR bar and rooftop.
The NOMAD Urban AQP hotel is located at Calle Alvarez Thomas 300 Cercado, Arequipa. It is 300 meters away from the city's Plaza de Armas, where most of the facilities are on an old Arequipa house style over 150 years old. They were built with white ashlar which adds a unique personality to this world heritage city. Radio Arequipa, a 60´s local radio station, was located in one of the spaces of the house for many years. Therefore, clients and guests can find in the "Music Corner" space, as well as in different parts of the hotel and rooms, old music record/replay equipment and vinyl records that were a part of that time.
The hotel has a modern style with 18 rooms. Among them, there are 3 suites in the old house, where the ashlar is the main component of the design that offers an extremely comfort. In addition, the hotel has two suites with terraces from where you can enjoy impressive views of the city, the three volcanoes that surround it and amazing sunsets. The rest of them are single, double and triple rooms, they are ideally equipped to offer comfort during a short or a long stay.
As social and leisure spaces, there is AMBAR with its two versions. The Rooftop at the top of the hotel with a wonderful view of the Misti volcano, and the INDIGO restaurant bar, with a room or terrace where you can enjoy our delicious offer. In addition, "The Music Corner" is a space where any hosted guest or client who uses any of our services can play music with some of the instruments that are available, such as drums, guitar and bass.
Our gastronomic approach has been created by the very well-known chef Enrique Paredes, corporate chef of NOMAD Hotels Group. He has prepared the menu for the INDIGO restaurant and the snacks for the AMBAR bar and rooftop. Paredes conceptual format is "Cook with Freedom", where traditional local dishes have been transformed by applying innovative production processes and incorporating a variety of local ingredients, which make them unique.
Andre Querol, our corporate blender, has been in charge of preparing the signature cocktail approach, which is offered at AMBAR bar and rooftop. He has incorporated clarification, a typical cooking technique, to prepare drinks with Papain based on Arequipa papaya that makes it unbeatable.
The qASA CARE workspaces, "co-working evolves towards co-growth". NOMAD Hotels Group, in order to offer new experiences, has created CARE (Center for High Business Performance), where the concept of co-working has surpassed itself to become a co-growth. These spaces have super modern facilities, where advice and growth is developed for the projects and enterprises of the users. Here, the time invested will be truly fructiferous. qASA CARE facilities are not only exclusive for guests, but also for professionals who require a quiet environment to work and create. Additionally, the hotel complements its offer with two meeting rooms, one for assorted uses with a 56 people capacity, and a board room of up to 10 people capacity.
The hotel underlines its sustainability perspective. It is committed to the 360 circular economy, collecting all the organic waste generated in the kitchen and restaurant, which is processed as compost through a local partner who returns it as fertilizer for all the plants that are in the hotel.
