In the heart of Tel Aviv's Old City, in the picturesque Neve Tsedekneighbourhood, Elkonin Hotel MGallery offers an enchanting setting for a wide range of sensory experiences, from taste to smell to an overall sense of relaxation.
Bringing back to life the first ever hotel in the Israeli metropolis, created in 1913 by Malka and Menahem Elkonin - a charismatic couple originally from Russia who left a strong mark on the city - Elkonin Hotel MGalleryis also a place of historical significance. Indeed, illustrious guests such as Albert Einstein and David Ben-Gurion have resided under its roof. Its rich history seduced Dominique Romano, who acquired it in 2004 with the intention of saving the historic building, which had been abandoned. The Franco-Israeli entrepreneur has given the place a new lease on life by bringing in modernity and an incomparable art of hospitality. The dream of a luxury home and a private getaway became a reality thanks to the architect Gidi Bar Orian and the interior designer Adriana Schor, who in addition to executing the interior design, also acted as artistic director.
Designed as a boutique hotel with 44 rooms including 2 suites, Elkonin Hotel MGallery offers unique service and amenities, featuring collaborations with world-renowned brands. As such, it is home to' Époque, the first Robuchon restaurant in Israel, as well as a Clarins spa, which is also a first in the country. The hotel has joined the Mgallery Hotel Collection, a brand of more than a hundred soulful boutique hotels around the world where captivating stories are lived and shared. Whether it is for a weekend, a romantic getaway, a week of exploring the city or a business trip; for solo travelers, couples, or friends, ElkoninHotel MGallery is always open to welcome guests and offer a personal touch. It is in perfect harmony with the festive atmosphere and the dynamic pace of Tel Aviv.
The historic building in which Elkonin Hotel MGallery was built has been meticulously restored. The interior designer wished to preserve the architectural modeling typical of the eclectic style in vogue in Tel Aviv at the beginning of the 20th century. A site-specific, majestic glass tower designed by Gidi Bar Oriancreates a striking architectural dialogue with the historic part of the building. Faceted like an abstract painting, with reflections that change according to the trajectory of the sun, it provides access to the rooftop on the 7th floor, reserved for hotel and spa guests until 6 pm. Non-resident guests may also enjoy the rooftop upon reservation. This truly panoramic spot is the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing cocktail accompanied by a choice of snacks while admiring the famous Tel Aviv sunset over the Mediterranean
