Dorsett Hospitality International, one of Asia's fastest-growing hotel groups, announces its new luxury flagship hotel, Dorsett Kai Tak, opening in August 2024. Dorsett Kai Tak Hotel will offer upscale living in a class of its own. Inspired by the tranquil elegance of cruises and superyachts.
Dorsett Hospitality International is a renowned Hong Kong owner and operator that currently manages 53 properties across 23 cities. Dorsett Kai Tak marks a significant milestone for the Group as the 10th hotel in their home city of Hong Kong.
Historically home to Hong Kong's first international airport, Kai Tak Airport, Kai Tak has always represented the point of first contact with the city and has now been newly developed as the city's prime social hub. The new Dorsett Kai Tak property will sit in the Kai Tak Sports Park - the most anticipated sports facility in Hong Kong. The Sports Park will be one of the world's leading multi-purpose sports and entertainment precincts.
Boasting spectacular views of Hong Kong's iconic Victoria Harbour, Dorsett Kai Tak will sit adjacent to the city's new 50,000 seat stadium, home to all of Hong Kong's major sporting events and concerts, state-of-the-art sports facilities, and new shopping and dining offerings. The new hotel is located only 15-20 minutes away from Hong Kong's Central business district via the new Shatin to Central link.
The new 373-room Dorsett Hotel flagship is inspired by the location's dreamy marina lifestyle and the ocean. Catering to both leisure and longer-staying business travellers alike, luxurious suites will offer pantry and light cooking facilities as well as interconnecting options. Dorsett Kai Tak will feature two exquisitely designed Presidential Suites, each offering a private ocean view terrace complete with barbeque facilities. The Presidential Pool Suite also has its own 10 metre lap pool allowing guests to indulge in a private oasis of relaxation and rejuvenation.
For guests arriving from the cruise terminal, the hotel will offer a smooth transition to an atmosphere that echoes the magical time at sea; for the staycation patron, the hotel will give them the opportunity to dream of a Marina lifestyle without leaving Hong Kong.
In keeping with the Group's Dorsett Cares initiative, a commitment to caring for guests, associates, local communities and the planet, Dorsett Kai Tak has received a BEAM Plus Gold certification by the Hong Kong Green Building Council. The programme's multifaceted approach encompasses green construction, the use of renewable energy, eco-friendly choices for guests, and community support.
Guests at Dorsett Kai Tak can also enjoy a diverse range of retail, dining, and entertainment options at nearby shopping malls including AIRSIDE, Mikiki, and the upcoming SOGO shopping mall, The Twins (opening in mid-2024). High-end brands to trendy boutiques are all within reach.
"Hong Kong remains one of the world's most inspiring cities, and I'm delighted to be opening our flagship Dorsett Hotel in such an iconic location. Dorsett Kai Tak and the Kai Tak Sports Park are wonderful complements to each other, and together we can not only bring more exciting, world-class events to Hong Kong, but support our community through wellbeing and activity. Furthermore, our new luxury property gives us an opportunity to showcase our commitment to sustainability through a combination of technological innovation and greenscaping. The Dorsett Kai Tak will set an example for all industries to step into the future with a greener approach," says Winnie Chiu JP, President and Executive Director of Dorsett Hospitality International.
Other openings in the pipeline include Dorsett Canary Wharf, Dorsett Brisbane, Dorsett Perth and Dao by Dorsett Hornsey Town Hall - the third opening of the Group's brand-new aparthotel concept, Dao by Dorsett, designed to cater to the evolving needs of the next generation of travellers.
