Minor Hotels is set to expand its presence in the United Arab Emirates with the opening of the luxurious Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat. Slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2023, this exclusive 22-key resort is situated in Ghantoot, a serene coastal area nestled midway between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The resort offers panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf, distanced from the bustling cityscapes. Conveniently located, it is a 25-minute drive from Dubai's Al Maktoum International Airport and 35 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The Anantara Santorini has been architecturally inspired by its Greek namesake, featuring low-rise white structures. It boasts accommodations with expansive interiors, terraces, and stunning sea vistas. Among its amenities are a private beach, an outdoor pool with Gulf views, and an indoor cinema offering late-night screenings and tailored gourmet dining. Guests can indulge in personalized spa treatments in beachside cabanas and benefit from round-the-clock butler service. The dining options include a regional heritage restaurant, a Greek-themed ocean-side eatery, and a bar with a diverse beverage selection.
This new opening underscores Minor Hotels' growth strategy in the Middle East. The company currently operates eight Anantara hotels and resorts in the U.A.E., contributing to a regional total of 11, with an overall portfolio of 26 properties under five brands. Future plans include further expansions in the U.A.E., Qatar, and upcoming launches in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
