Timeless transformation to commence at Adina Sydney Town Hall in April 2024.
The Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney Town Hall, located just metres away from Sydney's iconic Town Hall Clock Tower, is officially counting down the days ahead of a new multimillion-dollar refurbishment confirmed to start mid next month.
According to TFE Hotels' Group Chief Operating Officer, Chris Sedgwick, the timing is right for the group's popular CBD hotel to undergo a complete reinvention and full-scale refurbishment, in line with the Adina Hotels' brand transformation in recent years.
Adina Town Hall remains one of the city's most sought after hotels stretching 27 storey's above Sydney's bustling CBD and affording incredible views from many rooms across Darling Harbour and the cityscape - including a bird's eye view of Sydney's iconic Town Hall and historic Clock Tower. It offers generous conferencing spaces and 145 one, two and three-bedroom and studio apartments overlooking central Sydney.
From April 16, the TOGA-owned hotel will undertake a full shut down over the renovation period, with a target completion date in December 2024 ahead of Christmas and New Year.
Award-winning sustainable design firm, Bates Smart, have been tasked with reimagining Adina Town Hall's interiors as part of the highly coordinated update. The brief - "leave no area untouched" - has been honoured with all 20 guest and public floors of the hotel in scope, from guest rooms and bathroom through to the lobby and corridors, four versatile conference spaces, pool, and gym.
Bates Smart's overall design concept is to create a "home away from home" experience for Adina guests, underpinned by a new level of casual elegance to reinvigorate the hotel.
Given the hotel city wears a prime CBD address, its design brings with it a level of cosmopolitan formality. The completed guest rooms will look and feel like contemporary long-stay apartments. Bates Smart have taken inspiration from other refined CBD residential projects to pull together design elements, with an additional nod to fashion and retail noticeable throughout the overall design palette.
In guest rooms, lighting - both functional and atmospheric - will be a key design element. Bathrooms will also emerge a hero, with vanity units resembling glamorous make up compacts, complete with side lit mirrors, a beautiful dressing table and elegant ottoman (that retreats beneath) to maximise space.
Adina Town Hall also borders the vibrant Chinatown and Haymarket precinct, which, in a stroke of great timing, will undergo its own complementary revitalisation as part of a $44 million, long-term upgrade to revamp its public spaces to add more trees, seats, lighting and integrated public art to celebrate the area's heritage.
Once the renovation concludes, the hotel will join a new generation of Adina-branded addresses that opened in the last few years including the iconic Adina Apartment Hotel Pentridge Melbourne (February 2023) and Adina Apartment Hotel Geneva (March 2023); and the refurbishment of both Adina Apartment Hotel Melbourne on Flinders (January 2023) and Adina Apartment Hotel Chippendale (March 2022).
