Songtsam Hotels Resorts & Tours, an award-winning luxury boutique hotel collection located in the Tibet and Yunnan Provinces of China, announces the opening of its newest property, Songtsam Lodge Bingzhongluo, marking the brand's 17th resort in the collection. Located in Dongfeng Village in Yunnan Province, this 45-room lodge is Songtsam's third property near Yunnan's Three Parallel Rivers, a notable UNESCO World Heritage Site made up of the Salween River, Mekong River, and the Yangtze River in the Hengduan Mountains, making it easier for travelers to explore the unique landscape.
As a significant addition to the collection, Songtsam Lodge Bingzhongluo marks the completion of Songtsam Resorts' circuit of three hotels along the Three Parallel Rivers. This circuit allows travelers to conveniently explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Songtsam's future plans include developing a new route to Tibet, Bingzhongluo, Chavalong and Chayu.
Founded in 2000 by Mr. Baima Duoji, Songtsam has always had a strong commitment to the preservation of Tibetan culture and offering travelers the most authentic experience while supporting the economic development of local Tibetan communities.
With help of Singaporean architecture firm STUDIO NvS, Songtsam Lodge Bingzhongluo is adorned with local Tibetan design elements such as yellow rammed earth walls and shale sloped roofs. Additionally, guests are able to bring home authentic Tibetan design elements with locally made fabrics and cloth featuring the region's notable Dulong pattern available for purchase at the lodge's shop.
The lodge's guest rooms feature glass terraces and floor to ceiling windows, allowing guests to take in the picturesque views of the region's wheat fields, ranges of Mountain Gaoligong and Snow Mountain Biluo, along with the resort's thoughtfully designed gardens featuring native plants such as magnolias, triangular plums, jacarandas, five-cornered maples, and much more.
Songtsam Lodge Bingzhongluo offers an array of authentic culinary experiences through its onsite restaurant, Restaurant Horizon. Led by Chef Fang Youjun, the restaurant specializes in rustic Tibetan cuisine using local ingredients abundant in the area such as matsutakes, herbs, lacquer oils, red rice, and black truffles. The resort will soon open Qunica, Songtsam's branded bar offered at each of their properties where guests can enjoy local specialties.
Guests will also have access to Songtsam SPA, a Himalayan spa brand under Songtsam Resorts where guests can indulge in wellness experiences only offered in the region. Based on unique geographical conditions and the core of Tibetan spiritual culture, Songtsam's SPA culture integrates healing elements from Tibet, India, Nepal and other Asian countries to offer guests the opportunity to embark on a journey of physical and mental exploration.
The resort features a gym with dedicated indoor and outdoor spaces, offering flexibility in fitness experiences to guests. The gym's indoor space features an array of fitness equipment as well as an anaerobic training area and swimming pool overlooking rice paddies. Additionally, guests will have access to a library and a dedicated multi-function meeting room.
Travelers looking to explore the region and its local villages while staying at Songtsam Lodge Bingzhongluo can easily partake in a variety of local activities. Bingzhongluo and its Scenery
"Bingzhong" translates to "Tibetan Villages", and "Luo" is the name of the Lisu people for "place", together meaning "a place with Tibetan villages". Today in Bingzhongluo, multiple Tibetan, Lisu and Dulong groups live in harmony with diverse beliefs including Tibetan Buddhism, Catholicism and Christianity. Only a 10-minute walk from the hotel, you can reach the Tibetan Buddhist temple- Puhua Temple. Today, it is also the residence of the fifth generation of Langqiu Living Buddha. Travelers can visit the Nujiang Grand Canyon, where the old caravan road is preserved as the only living ancient Tea-Horse Road, along with views of the Nujiang River and nearby Biluo Snow Mountain and Gongdang Mountain.
