Hotel's $9 Million Property-Wide Renovation Includes Burlington's First Oyster Bar, Original Skiff.
Hotel Champlain, formerly Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain, is thrilled to announce the completion of its transition to a Curio Collection property, part of the Hilton portfolio. The transformation includes a $9-million property wide renovation including new lifestyle community spaces, front drive experience, all-day-cafe, state-of-the-art fitness center, and signature seafood restaurant. The official ribbon cutting ceremony took place on July 10, 2024.
Hotel Champlain is a whole new take on the lake, emphasizing the hotel's enviable downtown location and its beautiful views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains. The Hotel Champlain embraces the authentic Burlington lifestyle with its proximity to lakefront activities and the bustling downtown area filled with restaurants and shops just a short walk away.
One of Hotel Champlain's main focuses is on wellness, getting outside, and exploring all that Vermont has to offer. Along with a recently renovated state-of-the-art fitness center, an outdoor sauna has been added to the property, and the hotel hosts weekly outdoor yoga classes during the summer months. Visit the Hotel Champlain Lake Shed on the lobby level of the hotel, a storefront where hotel guests can borrow outdoor games and sports equipment, free of charge.
Along with highlighting the true Vermont outdoor experience, Hotel Champlain has opened a locally sourced, regionally inspired eatery, Lily May's Coffee & Cafe. Playful and welcoming, it's the place to go for fresh-baked goods and casual beverages to fuel your perfect day in Burlington. Inspired by renowned Canadian-American botanist Lily May Perry, it brings buzzing energy and satisfying snacks to the hotel's Mezzanine Level.
Hotel Champlain is passionate about showing guests and locals its commitment to supporting local Burlington and Vermont businesses. The hotel has created a Local Small Business Discount program in which hotel guests receive special discounts to businesses around town, thus incentivizing traffic to support the local economy. The hotel has also partnered with Local Maverick, a platform that highlights local Vermont businesses, to open Maverick Market at Hotel Champlain. The market offers a variety of handmade items and snacks from local businesses in Burlington and around the state.
Furthering their commitment to local partnerships and community, the hotel has teamed up with Heirloom Hospitality and Chef Eric Warnstedt to open Burlington's first oyster bar, Original Skiff Fish + Oysters. Inspired by the quintessential oyster bars and coastal taverns from Bar Harbor to the Florida Keys, Original Skiff pays tribute to the heroes, hustlers, and helmsman that lived amidst the lakes, harbors, inlets, and waterways.
Hotel Champlain is operated by Aimbridge Hospitality, a leading global hospitality management company and the world's largest third-party hotel operator.
