Formerly known as Turtle Bay Resort, the famed property has been acquired by Host Hotels & Resorts and is now managed by Marriott International.

Nestled along five miles of pristine North Shore coastline, O'ahu's Turtle Bay Resort transitioned to The Ritz-Carlton O'ahu, Turtle Bay on July 31, 2024. Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc., the nation's largest lodging real estate investment trust, acquired the 450-room property and transitioned management to Marriott International concurrent with the acquisition closing. The legendary destination is now part of the prestigious Ritz-Carlton brand, one that is internationally recognized for exceptional service, refinement, and luxury. The acquisition marks the third Hawai'i property in The Ritz-Carlton's expanding portfolio.

Turtle Bay Resort completed a major renovation in 2023, which unveiled newly designed public areas including the lobby, guest rooms and suites, private oceanfront bungalows, a new club lounge, fitness center, full-service spa, dining outlets, and more.

The Ritz-Carlton O'ahu, Turtle Bay welcomes Douglas Chang as General Manager. With over 40 years of luxury hospitality experience, Chang previously served as General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach; The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis; The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, Kapalua Bay; and Hotel-Hana Maui.

A native Hawaiian from the island of Oʻahu, he is an active community leader. Chang currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association (NaHHA), where he was also a founding board member. He is the Advisory Board Chair for Pearl City High School's CAHSL Academy and a Board Member of the Hawai'i Tourism & Lodging Association (HTLA), where he leads the Workforce Development working group. Throughout his career in Hawaii, he has also served as a Board Member, Vice Chair, and Chair of the Hawai'i Tourism Authority (HTA), and has held roles in the Kauaʻi Visitors Bureau, Maui Hotel & Lodging Association, Maui Visitors and Convention Bureau, and various business councils across the Hawaiian Islands.
