Accor announces today the signing of the first Handwritten Collection hotel in Croatia. Thanks to the partnership with Jadran hotels Rijeka, the iconic 135-year-old Hotel Continental in Rijeka will join Accor's boutique collection. The property is set to welcome its first guests in 2026.
Offering 75 carefully designed rooms, the historic Hotel Continental in Rijeka, after joining Handwritten Collection, will offer an authentic and modern guest experience based on Croatian hospitality tradition. With its distinct design and storied history, Handwritten Collection embodies the personality of its hosts, offering cosy, stylish spaces full of unique charm. Each property has a soul and character all its own, allowing guests to feel "at home"—far from rigid standards and formalities.Currently counting 17 properties across 11 countries such as Australia, France, China, Poland and Estonia. The brand aims to achieve a portfolio of 250 boutique hotels by 2030, premiering in new destinations across the globe.
