Mark Mahoney named Vice President of Sales at Extended Stay America, Inc.
HVM LLC., which manages the 685-property Extended Stay Hotel chain, has named Mark D. Mahoney Vice President of Sales for the company’s Northeast Region. The announcement was made by Mike Haaf, newly appointed Chief Marketing Officer.In his new role, Mr. Mahoney will be responsible for sales in the company’s Northeast Region, which includes properties throughout the New England states, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and Kentucky. Mr. Mahoney has spent 20 years in the hotel and leisure industry, most recently as Vice President, Managing Director and General Manager of Red Lion Hotels. Mr. Mahoney’s responsibilities there included direct sales for the company’s properties across the U.S. and Canada; development and implementation of a major capital improvement plan and oversight of a more than 200-person sales team. He has also served in a number of senior sales, marketing and revenue enhancement roles for The Marcus Corporation, a leader in the lodging and entertainment industries; Boykin Management Company, a real estate investment trust that focuses on the ownership of full-service, upscale and resort hotels and Meristar Hotels and Resorts, whose hotel properties include a number of well-known national brands.
