Alan Clark named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited (Peninsula)
Aged 45, Mr. Clark is a British national and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the United Kingdom. He graduated from the University of South Africa in 1989 with a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree. After graduation, he joined Durban Hotels and left in 1992 to join Sun International where he supported the opening of The Palace of the Lost City at Sun City Resort. Mr. Clark temporarily left the hospitality industry in 1996 to look after his family business. In 2001, he moved to the United Kingdom and in 2003 became Deputy Vice President of Finance for Europe with Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts. In 2005, Mr. Clark joined Malmaison, an upscale boutique hotel company, as Financial Controller and was promoted to be Group Finance Director in 2007. In 2010, he joined luxury hotel company Rocco Forte Hotels as Group Finance Director. Mr. Clark has a diverse and rich experience in the international hospitality industry. In his new capacity with HSH, he will be overseeing the Group’s corporate finances and will play an integral role in HSH’s expansion and development plans.
