John Trovato has been appointed Managing Director at The Lexington New York City
Highgate Hotels announced today the appointment of John Trovato as Managing Director of the storied Lexington New York City located in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Trovato joins The Lexington New York City following a ten-year run as General Manager of the Roosevelt Hotel in New York. During his tenure, Trovato managed daily operations of the 1,015 room property, improved quality of guest services, managed financial operations, oversaw a multi-million renovation and was awarded recognition for Hotel of the Year for all Interstate Hotels and Resorts in 2008. Previously, Trovato held a range of General Manager positions at top rated hotels across the country, including the Fort Magruder in Williamsburg, VA; Founders Inn, Virginia Beach; and the Marriott, San Francisco. Trovato's first General Manager assignment was in 1993 at the Pala Mesa Golf Resort in San Diego. Trovato began his career with Interstate Hotels and Resorts as the Coffee Shop Manager at the Pittsburgh Green Tree Marriott in 1981. He grew with the company and relocated on more than 10 occasions, rotating through various middle management positions on both coasts, Florida and the Midwest in hotels that were acquired or newly built. He eventually worked his way up the ladder and earned a corporate position as Regional Director of Operations for the Eastern Region overseeing 35 properties.
