Jim Glanville joined Inn by the Sea as General Manager
Inn by the Sea, a luxurious boutique hotel located on a mile of unspoiled sand beach on the Maine coast, has welcomed Jim Glanville as its new General Manager. An industry veteran with over twenty years experience, Glanville brings a reputation of management excellence in both culinary and resort operations to the Inn, with a commitment to service and guest satisfaction. He will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the 61 upscale guestrooms and suites, ocean view restaurant and full service SP A, as well as overseeing renovations and upgrades for the lounge, restaurant and two bedroom cottage style suites at Inn by the Sea. Glanville is most recently credited with the successful expansion of The Essex Resort and Spa from country hotel to 4 Diamond Culinary Resort which took place during his twelve year tenure as Vice President and General Manager at the Vermont property. After graduating from Central Connecticut University, Glanville immediately began his career in hospitality, and has enjoyed many aspects of the business during his 20 plus years in the industry. From off-premise Kosher catering to National Hotel Sales, Restaurant Management and Country Club Management- each step of my career has been more enjoyable than the last,commented Glanville. While in Vermont, Glanville was consistently recognized for his achievements and industry expertise. He was an active member of the Vermont Convention Bureau, was awarded the Bureaus Bright Lights Award in 2000, and served as President and on their Executive Committee. In 2010 Glanville received the Vermont Department of Tourisms Borden Avery Innkeeper of the Year award. He also held positions with the United Way of Chittenden County and Vermonts Make A Wish Foundation, and currently serves on New England Inns and Resorts Associations board. Glanville will be joined in Maine by his wife Tess, a Cape Elizabeth native, and their two teenage children who all plan to enjoy coastal Maine living to the fullest!
