Alexander Kandalaft Alexander Kandalaft started his hospitality career with The Westin Copley Place, Boston in 2000 as a Food & Beverage Management Trainee and held many progressive roles during his tenure from Service Express Supervisor to Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, Assistant Guest Services Manager and Front Desk Manager. He held the latter position until he moved on to join the opening team of The Westin Boston Waterfront as Service Express Manager (Food & Beverage/Guest Services), successfully contributing to the launch of the luxury convention hotel in 2006. Subsequently, Alexander held key positions with Starwood Hotels and Resorts including Complex Director of Front Office at Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, and Senior Rooms Manager at Sheraton Boston Hotel. Prior to pursuing his career with Swissôtel Merchant Court, Singapore, Alexander was the Director of Rooms at Fairmont Battery Wharf, now known as Battery Wharf Hotel, Boston Waterfront. In his new role as Executive Assistant Manager – Rooms at Swissôtel Merchant Court, he will be assisting the General Manager, Rainer Tenius, in leading the daily operations of the hotel and be responsible for the leadership and management of the Rooms and Spa Divisions. Alexander who is fluent in English and French, holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Administration, Minor in Music, from Boston University, Massachusetts, United States.
