Derryn French named EAM in charge of food and beverage at The Westin Dubai and Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort
The Westin Dubai and Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina has named Derryn French as its new EAM in charge of food and beverage and marketing across both The Westin Dubai and Le Meridien Mina Seyahi complex. French previously spent eight years leading the marketing efforts across the complex, most recently as complex director of marketing. As the new executive assistant manager, French will take on the responsibility of overseeing the entire Food & Beverage and Marketing operation of all 18 outlets across the complex, including the renowned Bubbalicious Brunch, Barasti beach bar, China Grill and the recently renovated Bussola. In recent years French has been involved in a number of landmark moments, including the opening of The Westin Mina Seyahi in 2007 and the renovation of Le Meridien Mina Seyahi in 2013. She has been instrumental in ensuring that both The Westin Dubai and Le Meridien Mina Seyahi are consistently rated amongst the top five star hotels in Dubai, as well as picking up multiple awards across the food and beverage outlets, spa and hotel. She has amassed over 26 years of experience in the industry. She studied Hotel Management in South Africa, and began her career in 1995 at the Orient Express Hotels Group as executive chef, responsible for their five star F&B operation in Botswana. Over her career she has also been rooms division director at the 5 star Inter-Continental Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa, as well as director of sales and marketing at Three Cities Hotel Group in South Africa.
