Kris SingletonAs of November 1,Kris Singleton, CIO for Omni Hotels & Resorts, joins as a director on the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) Global Board. Singleton was appointed for a two year term by the HFTP Global Executive Committee when it recently convened following the association's Annual Business Meeting at the 2015 Annual Convention & Tradeshow in Bellevue, Wash. USA. Singleton previously served as advisory council chair for HFTP’s 2013 Hospital Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC), the world’s largest hospitality technology event. In the coming year, the association is looking to continue with expanding its global reach, including new educational opportunities in Far-East Asia, India and Europe; promoting HFTP’s new, hospitality-specific search site Pineapplesearch.com; and maintaining the top-notch education and resources for the hospitality finance and technology professional community. Singleton began her career in hospitality IT in 2002 as a project manager at MGM Mirage. She went on to become vice president of business solutions at MGM, and followed with vice president/CIO positions at Kimpton Hotels and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, before taking on her role at Omni. Omni Hotels & Resorts has 60 distinct hotels and resorts in leading business centers and leisure destinations across North America. Singleton joins the new slate of HFTP directors that were selected and announced by the HFTP Nominating Committee late last spring. The group was elected at the HFTP Annual Business Meeting on October 23, and includes: Kaeko Shirasu-Bailey, CPA, assurance senior manager for McGladrey; Cindy Estis Green,co-founder and CEO of Kalibri Labs; Mark Pate Sr., CHAE, CPA, assistant controller/IT director for Highpointe Hotel Corp.; and Sherry Marek, co-founder and vice president of Datavision Technologies.
