Sal Gowili has been appointed General Manager at The Ritz Hotel London
The five-red-AA-star, 136-bedroom Ritz London has promoted Sal Gowili to general manager, 14 months after the hotel’s former managing director Stephen Boxall suddenly left the hotel. Gowili joined the Ritz following an eight-year stint with Red Carnation Hotels in 2011 as front of house manager, before swiftly progressing to rooms division manager. He was appointed hotel manager in 2013, and since then he has overseen “outstanding” revenue growth at the property. Gowili is expected to build upon the renowned reputation of the hotel, which this year celebrates its 110th anniversary. Boxall stepped down as managing director of the Ritz in February 2015. The hotel declined, at the time, to comment on the reasons behind his departure.
