Eric Sala has been appointed Executive Chef at St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino in Frigate Bay
St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Sala as Executive Chef for the resort. Chef Sala brings with him over 30 years of experience and a wealth of culinary knowledge. In his new role, Chef Sala will oversee the daily operations of the resort’s eight onsite restaurants, work closely with the culinary teams and coordinate catering for special events. Chef Sala joins St. Kitts Marriott from his previous role as the Executive Chef at the Swiss Hotel in Lima, Peru. Originally from France, he studied Culinary Arts, obtaining a Cap Cuisine Classique upon graduation from Lycée Hotelier Marseille Bonneveine. He began his career in 1984 with SoVitel Hotels in France, and in 1991 transferred to the United States, opening several restaurants in Miami and later joining Hyatt Hotels in Coral Gables, Florida as Executive Chef. In 1998, Sala transferred to the Hyatt Grand Cayman and began his culinary experience in the Caribbean. He went on to work for the Sans Souci Resort & Spa in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and has also opened three hotels, including the JW Marriott Guanacaste in Costa Rica, the JW Marriott Bogota, Colombia and the Intercontinental Managua in Nicaragua. Additionally, Chef Sala served as the Academic Advisor and Executive Chef for the Mariano Moreno Culinary Institute of Miami. Chef Sala’s extensive background in the culinary arts and impressive resume have made him a sought-after chef. His time spent working in France, the United States and the Caribbean with various four-and-Vive star hotels and resorts have prepared him for his current role and he looks forward to this new opportunity. “I plan to take everything I have learned through my international culinary travels and incorporate elements into my new role here in St. Kitts.”
