Melanie NocherRadisson Blu Edinburgh, a leading 4-star hotel on the historic Royal Mile in Scotland’s capital city has announced the appointment of Melanie Nocher as Executive Assistant Manager. With key responsibility for the food and drink operation, the 35 year old from East Kilbride outside Glasgow will work closely with senior colleagues, including Richard Mayne, General Manager of Radisson Blu Edinburgh and Rachel Perry, Hotel Revenue Development Manager. A graduate of Hospitality Management from Glasgow Caledonian University, Nocher’s appointment marks the latest phase in her career aspirations to be a general manager. She has been part of the Radisson brand within the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group for 15 years. In 2002, she started at Radisson Blu Glasgow as a management trainee and enjoyed spells in meeting and event sales. In 2008 she transferred to Radisson Blu Durham as food and beverage manager and in 2012 was appointed operations manager at Park Inn York. Two years later she transferred across the Irish Sea to take up the same position with Radisson Blu Galway. In 2016 she headed for the continent, being appointed assistant curator as part of the pre-opening team in Brussels for the world’s first Radisson Red.
