Rui Barros has been appointed Chief Operating Officer at Habitas
Habitas, a global hospitality group that's changing the way we travel through hotels, clubhouses and experiences, today announces the appointment of Rui Barros as Chief Operating Officer. Barros joins Habitas from WeWork, where he served as Senior Vice President, Head of Operations - US/Canada East.
With Rui's impressive experience in hospitality and operations, in senior leadership roles at the world's largest hotel company and then at WeWork, we're uniquely positioned to succeed in our mission to build a global home and impact people's lives by creating deeper human connections. As a member of the executive team, Barros will oversee all global operations for Habitas with a focus on its hospitality and membership divisions. This includes the expansion of Habitas and its social footprint through hotel and clubhouse development and membership acquisition.
Prior to joining Habitas, Barros acted as WeWork's Senior Vice President, Head of Operations for US/Canada East, and before that, served as the company's Senior Vice President of Global Operations. While at WeWork, he oversaw all aspects of the business growth for its largest market, including management, sales, operations and marketing for 50 buildings and tens of thousands of members across New York City.With nearly three decades of hospitality experience, Barros also held several high-level operations positions for Wyndham Hotel Group, most recently as President and Managing Director, North America Franchise Operations. In this role, he was responsible for field and brand operations, franchise support efforts and preferred clients services for the group's 15 brands in North America across 6,132 properties. Prior to this position, he acted as Wyndham's President & Managing Director, EMEA, where he oversaw development and operations for nine hotel brands representing 414 properties across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
