Travis Williams has been appointed General Manager at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Portland
Kimpton Hotel Monaco Portland Welcomes New General Manager, Travis Williams. Travis Williams, who joined the Hotel Monaco Portland team this winter, is focused on the hotel being the best at two things: guest experience and genuine Portland hospitality. The historic downtown hotel is known for its service and, as general manager, Williams guides employees to deliver on those expectations- while overseeing sales and revenue strategies to maximize the asset's financial performance. Williams was always drawn to the service aspect of hospitality, starting out on golf courses and driving v alet, and built his career in hotel sales and operations. After joining Kimpton four years ago, first in Seattle and then following management roles to the Sky Hotel in Aspen and Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City, Williams brings his hands-on leadership back to his hometown. He believes it's important to experience challenges and successes as a team, but also ensure every employee has the autonomy to make game-time decisions that are right for the specific situation and for guests. That's what attracted him to Kimpton in the first place: a culture that empowers employees to make heartfelt human connections. Fitting for his chosen industry, Williams loves to travel and explore the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, snowboarding on Mt. Hood or enjoying the Oregon coast (rain or shine).
