Susan Barnes has been promoted Global Sales Director, Incentives at KSL Resorts
As the Brand Ambassador for KSL Resorts, Susan will focus on selling the world-class destination properties to the incentive market. In her new role, Susan is responsible for strategic development of incentive market partnerships in corporate reward and recognition programs. Says Susan, "I look forward to partnering with each resort sales team within the brand to support group sales growth across the collection."
Since joining KSL Resorts in 2008, Susan has served as Regional Director of Sales, Southwest Division in the Global Sales Office. A consistent top sales producer for over 11 years, Susan honed her many skills, including emerging account solicitation, contract negotiation, creative client-based solutions, curated client events, and client retention. She excels in collaborating with her clients to achieve unique and memorable programs.
As Susan tells it, she was "bitten by the hospitality bug early." She's worked in the service industry for over 25 years, in various roles including Front Office Manager, Director of Revenue Management, Director of Catering and Conference Services, Director of Destination Services, and Director of Sales. Prior to joining KSL Resorts, Susan worked for seven years at Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Susan is an active member of Society of Travel Excellence (SITE SoCal) and Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
Today, Canadian-born Susan resides with her husband Phillip in Palm Desert, Calif. During her off hours, Susan enjoys cooking and spending time in nature - picnics, hiking, and biking. The ocean is her favorite destination and "happy place."
