David Matson

The DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront, has appointed David Matson as the new Executive Chef for the property. In his new position, Chef Matson will blend Boston's traditional and historical influences into the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront stellar coastal cuisine. Chef Matson will draw on more than 20 years of experience to lead the culinary team at the resort.

A native of Peabody, Massachusetts, Chef Matson completed a comprehensive chef training program at the New England Culinary Institute Monteplier in Virginia. He began his career in Boston as Executive Sous Chef at the largest Starwood property in New England, the Sheraton Boston. He spent the next decade fine tuning his professional cooking and kitchen management skills at notable hotels and restaurants in the Northeast, including Sheraton Framingham, Sheraton Needham and Sheraton Colonial Hotel and Conference Center Boston North. Most recently, Chef Matson dedicated four years as Executive Chef at the Wyndham Hotel Boston Andover in Boston, Massachusetts, where he managed food operations, oversaw inventory, purchasing and production as well as implemented new banquet / catering, conference center and in room dining menus.

As Executive Chef at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront, Chef Matson will utilize his wealth of knowledge, creativity and enthusiasm to oversee all culinary direction and kitchen management while crafting new recipes and menu items for any of the five on-property dining options.
