Glenn Sampert has been appointed General Manager at InterContinental Miami
In his new role, Mr. Sampert will oversee the day-to-day operations of the 653 room Bayfront hotel, which includes the recent addition of a 30,000 square foot turf-covered flexible lawn space with sweeping views of downtown Miami and Bayfront Park that will lend itself well to meetings, events, new programming, and social gatherings.
Mr. Sampert joins the InterContinental Hotels Group with over 30 years of experience in global luxury hotel, resort, and restaurant operations, most recently as Regional Vice President for Hotel Operations at HEI Hotels & Resorts. His celebrated success is a result of extensive experience in the luxury hospitality industry, having worked in diverse environments across the country.
Mr. Sampert served as General Manager for a number of North American Starwood Hotels & Resorts properties, including The Liberty, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona; The Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort & Casino in The Bahamas; The Westin Los Angeles Airport Hotel and The Westin Maui Resort & Spa in Hawaii.
In addition to a successful career in the luxury hospitality industry, Mr. Sampert is also an engaged community leader. He has held multiple leadership positions with organizations like The United Way, the Arizona Lodging and Tourism Association; the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association and LA Inc, Visitors and Convention Bureau, among others.
As the General Manager at InterContinental Miami, Mr. Sampert will bring in his expertise to lead the hotel in a strategic direction with innovative ideas and programs. His proven track record of providing the highest quality guest relations, along with his attention to detail, are some of the reasons he will be a great asset to the growth of the hotel.
Mr. Sampert is a Vancouver, Canada native who graduated Magna Cum Laude from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in hospitality and tourism administration. He also holds a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) certification awarded by the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
