David Katz has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at Viceroy Chicago
Born and raised in Chicago, IL, David Katz has strong roots in Chicago's hospitality industry. As a child, he remembers traveling with his family and enjoying their time spent at hotels the most, which is where his interest in the business began. After graduating from Arizona State University, Katz moved back to Chicago to springboard his career in hospitality.
Before joining the Viceroy Chicago team as Director of Sales and Marketing in early 2020, Katz held several positions at Marriott International, Hilton and Omni Hotels & Resorts, bringing almost two decades of experience in hotel operations and sales to his new role. David credits his experience in operations and knowledge of behind-the scenes hotel capabilities to his success in sales and client relations.
As the Director of Sales and Marketing at Viceroy Chicago, Katz oversees all aspects of group sales and strives to create opportunities for locals and travelers alike to have memorable experiences at the hotel. In his new position, Katz is looking forward to creating authentic activations across the hotel's event spaces, food and beverage concepts and rooms through partnerships with local businesses, artisans, makers and more.
In his free time, Katz enjoys coaching his son's little league team, traveling abroad with his family, and exploring different restaurants and cultural happenings around the city. He currently resides in the Northern Suburbs with his wife and three children.
