Nate Hardesty has been appointed Managing Director at Thompson Austin & tommie Austin
Hyatt Hotels and Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment of Nate Hardesty as managing director of Thompson Austin and tommie Austin, a mixed-use development slated to debut in the heart of Austin this summer. Situated in downtown Austin's vibrant music and entertainment district, the highly anticipated and adjoined Thompson Austin and tommie Austin bring new, upscale hospitality to the capital city with thoughtfully designed guestrooms, suites, and residences; several distinct food and beverage concepts; lush pool deck; expansive wellness center; and several indoor-outdoor meeting spaces—all providing unique and energetic gathering places for the local community and visitors alike.
With more than 20 years of hospitality experience in over 10 cities, Hardesty is an invaluable leader who brings an incredible track record, strong business acumen and great sense of community to the Thompson and tommie Austin team. As the newly appointed managing director, Hardesty will oversee all aspects of Thompson and tommie Austin, providing leadership and strategic direction for the new hotels. Hardesty is charged with spearheading daily property management spanning guest services and operations, to asset management.
Prior to relocating to Austin, Hardesty was the general manager at Andaz West Hollywood, a famed hotel on the iconic Los Angeles' Sunset Strip, for over two years. Prior to this, he served as regional vice president of sales for the eastern region of the U.S. on Hyatt's corporate team where he managed more than 60 directors of strategic corporate sales accounts. Throughout his Hyatt career, he held numerous leadership roles throughout the country including Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa; Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe; Grand Hyatt Denver; and Hyatt Regency Orlando where he oversaw the transition of the 1,641-room Peabody Orlando Hotel.
A veteran in the hospitality industry, Hardesty is a natural fit to lead the opening and operations for Thompson and tommie Austin. With a commitment to connecting the hotels to the local community, Hardesty is well placed to oversee the hotels' combined 422 rooms, suites, and residences, several food and beverage outlets, meetings spaces, guest experience programs and more.
