Chris Cummer has been appointed Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa
Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa, located on 405 acres of Texas landscape right outside of Austin and near the city of Bastrop, announces Chris Cummer as its new executive chef. Cummer joins the resort from Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina in Cambridge, Md.
With more than 28 years of experience, Cummer developed an interest and passion for culinary arts at a young age. Cummer began working at a pizza restaurant in Houston when he was 16 years old, and held various positions in kitchens in Southern Louisiana as he attended college at Louisiana State University.
He began career working in hotels as a banquet chef at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines and was quickly promoted to the resort's chef tournant, where he oversaw the banquet kitchen. Throughout his career, Cummer has worked at a variety of hotels within the Hyatt portfolio. His previous positions include chef de cuisine at Hyatt Regency Dallas, executive sous chef at Hyatt Regency Jersey City, executive chef at Andaz Wall Street in New York City, director of food and beverage and culinary operations at Andaz Savannah, and executive chef at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay.
Throughout his career, Cummer has received multiple awards and recognitions including the "Best of Show" award at the 2019 Taste of Cambridge event, and the "Best of Show" award at 2009 Empty Bowl Event in Bastrop, Texas. His efforts in providing sustainable dining experiences was highlighted by the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF).
