Winfred van Workum

The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort, a AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five-Star resort, and urban oasis W Miami, are pleased to announce the appointment of Winfred van Workum as market general manager. A seasoned hotelier with a career honed at luxury hotels around the world, including those in The St. Regis and The Ritz-Carlton portfolios, van Workum brings over 25 years of hospitality leadership and expertise to his new role. He will oversee all operations and team members for the award-winning St. Regis Bal Harbour resort including the resort's four distinct dining concepts and Forbes Five-Star Remède Spa, as well as W Miami's lively culinary outlets and 28,000-square-foot Iconbrickell Spa.

Mr. van Workum brings a wealth of leadership experience perfected at luxury hotels in the U.S. and Europe. Most recently, he served as general manager of the historic luxury hotel St. Regis Washington, D.C., coordinating a full restructure of the property and achieving top scores in employee engagement and guest satisfaction. Prior to that, van Workum served as the general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Central Park, known as a landmark legacy hotel and one of the finest in New York City. Under his leadership, the hotel was awarded Marriott Luxury Hotel of the Year in 2019. Before moving to New York, van Workum spent time at The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour, Miami, where he led the opening of the hotel and its conversion to The Ritz-Carlton brand.

Born in the Netherlands into a family of hospitality entrepreneurs, van Workum began his career working in Holland, Germany, and Ireland, before moving to the U.S. in 2000 to lead the food and beverage teams at the prestigious Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. His career also included positions at The St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort and The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas.

Fluent in Dutch, English, and German, van Workum graduated Cum Laude from Hotelschool The Hague, earning a Bachelor of Hotel Administration in International Marketing.
