Guy Heywood has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Janu hotels
The former CEO of hotels at Habitas has now moved to Janu Hotels, the new sister brand to Aman Resorts. Guy Heywood worked with Habitas from October 2021 to May 2022.
Heywood brings a very specific (and relevant) set of skills to Janu. Before Habitas, he was COO of Six Senses - arguably IHG's most exclusive brand, and also one that plugs into natural environments. He was based in Bangkok for the role and held the post for almost three years.
Prevously, he was COO of Alila Hotels and Resorts at its Singaporean head office. Now part of Hyatt in a near-half a billion dollar sale, Alila is a sustainable, wellness-driven brand with sprawling resorts in China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, the US and Oman.
As early as 1997, Heywood was already a GM within the ranks of Aman, heading up the Amankila Hotel in Bali for half a decade. He was also GM of Amangani in Wyoming from 2004 to 2007, serving as the regional manager for the USA and Carribean at the same time.
Even in 1993, he was a F&B manager within Four Seasons Tokyo and then Four Seasons Singapore.
