Monica Ortiz

Rosewood Baha Mar has promoted resort manager, Monica Ortiz to managing director. With more than 20 years of experience, Ortiz is the first woman to be named managing director at the ultra-luxury resort as well as among the Baha Mar Resorts' sister properties. Ortiz will oversee all aspects of the property including the residences, the renowned Sense, A Rosewood Spa, and the five distinct culinary experiences including the famed Café Boulud The Bahamas.

A native of Riviera Maya, Mexico, Monica is a well-respected hotelier with 22 years of hospitality experience. She started her career in 2000 at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in the reservations department. She was later recruited to be a part of the pre-opening team of the One and Only Palmilla where she took on a variety of executive level roles during her tenure before joining Rosewood Mayakoba in 2013, initially as director of guest relations and then promoted quickly to rooms division manager. In April of 2019, Monica joined Rosewood Baha Mar as resort manager.

Monica graduated from the Universidad La Salle in Cancun, Mexico, known for is academic excellence and empowering community engagement, with a bachelor's degree in business administration. First in her graduating class, she received high honors along with the Gold Medal for Excellence.
