Jean-Pierre Trabut

A long-time hotelier in the UAE capital has joined Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi as general manager. Jean-Pierre Trabut spent close to 14 years at Abu Dhabi National Hotels, as well as several years in Thailand, making him the ideal leader for the Dusit Thani hotel.

Trabut's hospitality career spans four decades and the globe. As early as 1985, he was F&B manager of the Prince of Wales Hotel in Southport, England, going on to work for a number of boutique properties in the UK. These include a stint as deputy GM of the 137-key Carin Hotel in Harrogate and GM of the 59-key Burlington Hotel in Folkestone.

He then travelled the world, heading to Casablanca for a role as deputy GM of Le Royal Mansoru hotel, part of Forte Exclusive, for six years. Staying with the Forte Exclusive family, he next served as EAM of The Shelbourne Dublin.

Trabut moved to the French West Indies as GM of Le Meridien Martinique before starting his 14-year tenure with Abu Dhabi National Hotels. He first acted as GM of Le Meridien Abu Dhabi for nine years, proceeded by five years as the director of hotel operations for Abu Dhabi National Hotels as a whole.

He then worked with Movenpick Hotel Riyadh as GM for two years and then spent close to two years at Movenpick in Thailand's Pattaya as GM before coming to Dusit.
