Brandon Near

Hyatt Regency Lake Washington, a 347-room property on the shores of Lake Washington just south of Seattle, today announced the appointment of Brandon Near as senior chef de cuisine. In his new role, Chef Near will oversee the daily culinary operations at Water's Table, Sip Lounge, Dock & Drink and the Market and create future menus in partnership with the pastry sous chef, Amy Tung, for any dessert items. Chef Near will continue to elevate upon the Water's Table's legacy as a premium lakefront restaurant in Seattle.

As senior chef de cuisine, Chef Near plans to implement his vision of the breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch program at Hyatt Regency Lake Washington, in particular taking a hyperlocal approach at Water's Table by focusing heavily on local seafood, as well as introducing farm raised beef, lamb and duck items to the menu. In addition, he will run the culinary programming for upcoming special events, including holiday buffets and wine dinners.

Chef Near brings 20 years of experience to Hyatt Regency Lake Washington. His culinary career started early, taking his first job in the kitchen at a pizza restaurant during high school, followed by a decision to attend the Renton Technical School of Culinary Arts. Since then, he has worked all over the city perfecting his craft, including cuisines such as American, French, pan-Asian, smoking meats and barbecue, in the process gaining a unique blend of skills and an understanding of culinary diversity.
