Shane Upson has been appointed Director of Spa and Wellness at Lapis, the Spa at Fontainebleau Miami Beach
Fontainebleau Miami Beach's leadership team continues to grow with the announcement that respected hospitality leader Shane Upson has been appointed Director of Spa and Wellness for Lapis, the Spa at Fontainebleau Miami Beach. Mr. Upson, who is only the second appointed Director of Spa in the history of Fontainebleau, will lead the resort's spa and wellness programming into the future with a pulse on the hottest wellness trends while continuing to have a strong connection to the spa's existing values and traditions.
In his new role, Mr. Upson will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, creating spa offerings, supervising new and existing staff technicians, developing and marketing promotional strategies, as well as updating and maintaining spa product collection offerings and spa boutique takeaways. Shane will continue to enhance the wellness rituals of Lapis Spa while also embracing the future of technology optimizing results and experiences for all guests.
Shane Upson brings almost three decades of spa, wellness, and hospitality experience to his role having most recently come from Yaamava Resort and Casino at San Manuel, where he served as the Serrano Spa Director of Spa and Pool Operations creating and awarded Forbes 5-star award. He has also held the role of Director of Spa, Salon, Recreation and Retail for The Waldorf Astoria in Las Vegas; and he has served as Director of Spa, Wellness, and Retail for The Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida; W Hotels properties in Las Vegas, South Beach, and Beverly Hills; and InterContinental Hotels and Resorts in Century City/Beverly Hills. Mr. Upson began his career straight out of culinary school opening Treasure Island Hotel and Casino for Steve Wynn in Las Vegas.
