Kym Barter

Atlantis, The Palm, has elevated Kym Barter to the roles of Senior Vice President, Operations, and General Manager.

A veteran of the luxury hospitality and food and beverage industries, Barter brings over 30 years of experience to his new roles. In the last two years, he has been at the helm of the food and beverage departments at both Atlantis Dubai properties, serving as the Vice President of Food & Beverage.

Expressing his enthusiasm about his promotion, Barter said, "The prospect of what lies ahead as we continue to develop our iconic property is tremendously exciting. I eagerly anticipate collaborating with our exceptional team of hospitality professionals as we strive to innovate, create, and elevate the guest experience at the globally-renowned Atlantis, The Palm."

Barter joined the Atlantis team during the Covid-19 pandemic and was part of the pre-opening phase of Atlantis, The Royal. His tenure as head of food and beverage operations has been marked by significant achievements, including a record year for the department and several prestigious awards for Ossiano, Atlantis, The Palm's flagship restaurant, such as Gault&Millau UAE's Restaurant of the Year on two occasions.

In his new position, Barter will spearhead all operational aspects of Atlantis, The Palm, which includes improving service and operational efficacy. His mandate covers the 1,544-room resort, as well as the 35 on-site restaurants and bars, a wide array of MICE & Events facilities, retail outlets, and the AWAKEN Spa and Fitness.

Prior to joining Atlantis, Barter held numerous leadership roles, most notably as Senior Vice President of Food & Beverage at Wynn and Encore Las Vegas and Wynn Palace, Macau. He also held a key position within Nobu Hospitality, where he managed the food and beverage development of new hotels in cities including Miami, London, Riyadh, and Manila. He was previously the General Manager of Food & Beverage at Crown Entertainment Complex in Melbourne.

Before joining Crown Melbourne, Barter served in directorial roles in food and beverage departments at various hotels across Asia, such as the InterContinental Bangkok, Shangri-La's China World Hotel in Beijing, and the Island Shangri-La in Hong Kong.
